LARC Standard Educational Kits
El Torneo Mexicano de Robótica® (TMR) está asociado a diversas competencias internacionales, entre las que está el Latin American Robotics Competition (LARC) de la IEEE. Anualmente, el TMR apoya al equipo ganador del LARC Standard Educational Kits (SEK) para representar a México en el Latin American Robotics Competition.
Dentro del LARC, cada dos años se propone un nuevo reto basado en problemas reales y que se debe resolver de manera exclusiva con piezas oficiales de un único kit estándar para desarrollo de robots. Entre los kits permitidos para esta competencia están: LEGO, Vex, pETe y FischerTechnik, etc. Para mayores detalles consulta las reglas oficiales de esta competencia.
Reseña
En un terreno accidentado en la ciudad de Big River hay un gasoducto sumergido en un canal de agua tóxica. Sin embargo, partes de la tubería han sido dañadas debido a un fuerte terremoto. Debido a que las tierras y aguas de Big River son difíciles de acceso, este escenario se ha vuelto perfecto para probar nuevos robots autónomos capaz de resolver este problema. A medida que se introdujeron muchos robots, la compañía de tuberías organizó una competencia para ver qué robots serían los más adecuados para este propósito.
Restricciones
Para participar en LARC SEK, se pueden inscribir equipos de máximo 4 personas. Los miembros del equipo deben ser estudiantes de licenciatura o cualquier nivel de estudios previo.
Para el TMR 2020 es requisito de participación la presentación del Team Description Paper (TDP) con el formato IEEE (enlace de descarga) y una extensión de 4 a 6 páginas.
Los profesores que acompañan al equipo y que desean contar con un diploma que reconozca su participación en el evento podrán inscribirse como mentores. El costo de inscripción de los mentores es el mismo que el de los concursantes. Debido a que LARC SEK es una competencia para estudiantes, a los mentores no se les asigna lugar en la mesa de trabajo del equipo y no tienen permitido ayudar a sus estudiantes durante la competencia.

The “Torneo Mexicano de Robótica®” (TMR) is associated with various international competitions, including the IEEE’s Latin American Robotics Competition (LARC). The TMR annually supports the winning team of the LARC Standard Educational Kits (SEK) category to represent Mexico in the Latin American Robotics Competition.
Within the LARC, a new challenge based on real problems is proposed every two years and must be solved exclusively with official parts of a single standard kit for robot development. Introduction
In a rough terrain land in the city of Big River there is a gas pipeline submerged in a toxic water channel. However, parts of the pipeline have been damaged due to a strong earthquake. Because of Big River’s lands and waters are difficult to access, this scenario has become perfect for testing new autonomous robots capable of solving this problem.
As many robots were introduced, the pipeline company ran a competition to see which robots would be best suited for this purpose.
Restrictions
To participate in LARC SEK, teams of up to 4 people can be registered. Team members must be undergraduate students or any previous level of education.
For the TMR 2020, the presentation of the Team Description Paper (TDP) with the IEEE format (download link) and an extension of 4 to 6 pages is a requirement of participation.
Teachers who accompany the team and wish to have a diploma that recognizes their participation in the event may register as mentors. The cost of registration of the mentors is the same as that of the contestants. Because LARC SEK is a competition for students, mentors are not assigned a place on the team work table and are not allowed to help their students during the competition.
