IEEE LARC Standard Educational Kits

Overview
In this edition, the Latin American Robotics Competition proposes the challenge of building a coffee-picking robot, an activity of great importance to the region. Latin America is one of the world’s leading coffee producers, and hundreds of people currently work in the fields manually harvesting the beans.
This challenge invites young Latin Americans to develop an autonomous robot capable of identifying and harvesting ripe and overripe coffee beans, leaving the green beans on the trees. Once harvested, the beans must be sorted and transported to a designated “processing area,” overcoming various obstacles present in the environment.
For this challenge, which must be solved exclusively with official parts from a single standard robot development kit. Currently, there are a large number of educational kits available; the most commonly used in this competition are Lego kits. If you have an educational kit from another brand, please contact the technical managers to confirm that the kits meet the requirements for participation in the competition.
